Regarding a 1960 2x4 270hp car, at roughly what VIN did the plant change over from a one-piece sealed Air Cleaner assembly to a two-piece open Air Cleaner assembly? Thank you in advance.

I've seen the sealed element air cleaner on cars that appear original and unrestored as late as around VIN 3000. Before that, you can have a mix.

The 1960 AIM shows a revision/new part number for the 2x4 air cleaner on October 21, 1959, but that does not mean that was the day the 2 piece units were placed on cars. They would have used up all of the sealed units prior to making the switch. Maybe the owner of a 4 star Bowtie car with 2x4, early build, will respond.
