    67 Headliner install

I am putting a new Al Knock HL in my coupe. I have the A Pillar trim removed, visors mirror and have the trim above the door loose. I see that the middle clip is still attached to the trim piece. I am trying to remove this clip so I can install the HL and then slide the trim back over the metal pieces attached to the bird cage. My problem is I have no idea how to get this clip to release. I am afraid i am going to break something. Can I install the HL with the side trim "dangling". It appears I will not be able to slide the trim back over the clips if I try this. The HL that is in the car was some aftermarket piece and I can tell the previous installer struggled with this too because the trim pieces did not fit as they should had. How did I get this clip off without breaking it?

    Thanks

    Lawrence

I keep the clip in the molding and was able to work the clip out of the bird cage. The clip did not break.
