    1956 Balancer Pulley

I have seen to different faces on the pulley on the balancer for the press on balancer with riveted pulley. One has the pulley with just the six holes where the rivets go and four more evenly spaced around and no other markings on the face. The other one has same amount of holes but has four raised lines evenly spaced on the face. The diameters and grove is all correct. Does anyone have a picture of the face of a pulley from a 56? Or any info from what I have described.

    Thanks

    Sheldon,

Here's a balancer on a friends '56. It's on a '57 283 presently but he tells me it's a '56 balancer. It has the 4 raised lines. The prior owner obviously had the crankshaft drilled and tapped for the 7/16-20 bolt for additional safety.

I know nothing about these unique items but had some photos in the library for reference. If you need more info or measurements the car is nearby,

p.s. that item below the fuel pump is a fuel shutoff, vintage solenoid type tied into the ignition circuit.

      This single-sheave assembly came out of a '56 Bel-Air.
      The engine is a future-project '59 283.
