Hello againI almost solved the mystery. I untaped the tape and what did I find? The second circuit breaker with the two red wires of the headlight motor, 12V 40A 372 stamped. So, the other circuit breaker is the power window circuit breaker, which is neatly attached to the kick panel, but the headlight motor circuit breaker is just hanging down there and had probably been taped to prevent a short or something.My question now is, how is the headlight motor circuit breaker (now hanging) correctly attached and where does it go? Below the P/W circuit breaker. It looks as if a bracket broke away from the breaker, like that one: DSC01555.JPG Do I need a new breaker with the "ears"?

Rudi, it was probably hanging there because it was a replacement without a bracket. Both circuit breakers are identical so both should have a bracket. As I said earlier they are both mounted on the left pillar, one above the other. If you look closely you'll probably see a mounting hole in the area of the one that is already mounted. I don't have a photo as I don't have power windows in my car. I noticed that someone used a wingnut on the breaker. It should be a regular nut with star washers.

Thank you for your help. So the P/W circuit breaker which is inserted into a clip on the left pillar looks original, but the other one (headlight motor circuit breaker) does not.

My question is, which circuit breaker would be correct for the headlight motors, Corvette Central for example, shows two different ones. One with a metal bracket and two holes and another one which is used with a clip, which is the one I would need for the headlight circuit?? I want to make sure to get the right thing, so I can mount it at the left pillar.

The circuit breaker with the attached bracket (2 holes) would be correct in 1967. As I said before; per the 1967 AIM, BOTH circuit breakers had the same part number. It might be in your best interests to purchase an AIM for 1963. It holds a wealth of information for your car. You may also want to check your owners manual for the AMP rating of the breakers.

I have a AIM for my 1963 already. But sometimes, especially the electrical things are a bit tricky. I found out that the circuit breaker should be 40amp.

If I am understanding you correctly, then the one I need should NOT have the bracket with the 2 holes. But I need the other one which also mounts to the kick panel with a clip.

Look at your AIM. The circuit breaker is pictured on page UPC A31-A1. It is item #9 for power windows. The headlite breaker is pictured on page UPC 12-B4 item #12 VIEW "B". BOTH have the same part # so they should be identical. It will look like the one in your photo 2 (MOUSE EARS)

I only found on page UPC 12-B9 item 12 the circuit breaker 3827000 and the clip in which it is inserted. However, it does not look like the one with mouse ears. I have a 1963 Corvette, not a 67, so that might be the difference in the AIM.

Unfortunately, I can't find the page UPC A31-A1 in my AIM..., maybe it only exists in the 67 AIM?

This is really confusing me, assuming that both are the same (3827000 in my manual), I should have those circuit breakers without the ears, am I right??

I think I solved it, I typed in 3827000 at Paragon Corvette and they show me the right thing 40amp without ears.

Right!!! Evidently GM changed things from 63 to 67. The mounting location will be on the AIM page. I'd install the loose breaker in the same vicinity.

Now I got it, went through every single page until I found A31-A1. I have it here and it clearly says use lower square hole for P/W breaker. So I will install the headlight circuit breaker above the P/W one, using a clip.

The 1963 A.I.M. shows the power window circuit breaker installation in Section A31, sheet 1.00, View "A", using breaker #3827000 and clip #3827129 with the note, "Use lower square hole in pillar for electric window breaker asm." It uses the same clip as the breaker for the headlight rollover motors.
