Hi,I need a pair of these and I'm having a difficult time finding a decent set. Any idea where I can go to find these? EBay has a couple of pairs, but they are junk. Any leads would be appreciated. Thanks,Jerry

Jerry, Classic corvette fiberglass sells the 63 fiberglass skin only if that works for you. Just a note- they are made to order so expect 6/8 weeks turn around.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: 1963 Fiberglass Headlight Buckets
Gerald,
As you know there was two designs in 63. Yours should be the steel frame with a fiberglass shell. The fiberglass shell should be filled on each end with seam filler. The second design used the fiberglass shell but wrapped around the ends about 1 to 1 1/2 inch. The second design was much neater after installation and looked better when open. Also, the first design buckets had the frame around the headlights with screws coming in straight from the front.
Finding a good set of first design headlight buckets for a 63 is going to take a lot of patience. Maybe Corvette Carlisle this fall would be a good place to look.
Hope you are not in any hurry.

Re: 1963 Fiberglass Headlight Buckets
Gerald,
I have a very nice LH fiberglass bucket but it is the second generation glass one that Joe Ray told you about. My '63 was built on 10/13/62 and had the first series. This is the only glass one I could find during my search in the late 80s so I wound up ordering metal ones from Chevrolet which were still available then. Have hung onto this blue one all these years thinking a match might show up some day but really haven't looked in several years. If interested, I will take some pictures and send them to you. The bezel is missing, but pivot arms, headlight back mounting bracket and wiring as I recall, are all there. I have no idea what a fair price would be but will be glad to send pics if it might help you. Good luck, jim- Top

Gerald, your situation is exactly what your free ad in the Driveline is for - many folks might be sitting on a fiberglass bucket, unwilling to part with it to a dealer, but willing to help a car owner out.- Top

Re: 1963 Fiberglass Headlight Buckets
I have been fortunate enough to locate the correct version of a complete set of '63 headlight buckets (wiring, motors, etc.) except no bezels. At $2,100, I am having trouble justifying this for the points I might lose in a judging. Does anyone have a rough idea of current market value? Thanks.- Top

Re: 1963 Fiberglass Headlight Buckets
Is your correct version based on your cars serial number?? , because there were many versions ( inside mounts, skins, bezels, etc. ). I found fiberglass buckets for mine, and luv them, why?. because that's what the car had when new. There was no points game in 63 when those cars were built with fiberglass buckets, why should there be one now? I spent $900.00 on a set with bezels, but no motors. As far as I'm concerned, it was money well spent. To each his own.- Top

Re: 1963 Fiberglass Headlight Buckets
Yes, the assemblies I am looking at are correct for my serial #. After serial# 14600 or so, the bezels attached from the bottom and top and tabs were added to the headlight housing sides. Very late cars did come equipped with the metal buckets (after SN 21000 or so). All this from the current 63-64 judging manual. My serial # ends in 11068. Correct 63 buckets are getting very hard to find. Thanks.- Top
