    Head lights

    Hi all,
just a quick question about headlights. Does the interior dash light (Head Lamps) come and stay "ON" when the heads lights are up? I was out for my first ride last night and that dash light stays "on" I thought that light only came "ON" if the cars engine was turn off and the master light switch was left "ON". My car is a C3 1975.

    thanks
    John

    Re: Head lights

I have a '71 and when the headlamps come up and lock in place the "Head Lamps" light on the dash goes out. I assume '75 would be the same or similar. There are two small switches located on the headlamp assemblies that turn that dash light out when the headlight buckets lock in the up position. If one of those is not working the dash light will not go out. The switches are made of plastic which can fail. Bob

      Re: Head lights

      Hi Bob,
Ahhhhh yes, when I first got the car both of those connectors were dis-connected from the switches. I just plugged them in not knowing why they were unplugged. I plan then to replace both switches.

I also have an issue with the seat belt circuit. I know they completely disassembled the seat belt warning circuit in this car. i.e. seat sensors, starter relay, timer, is there anything I can do to get the dash seat belt warning light to go out after I connector my seat belts? I found the bulb removed.

      thanks for your reply

Sorry John, I can't help with the seat belt issue. Mine has a button that you push to shut the light off. It is not connected to the seat belt in any way. Bob

okay thanks..........found the headlight switches in Eckler's, ordered two, should take care of that problem. I looked threw my schematic's and I see there is a timer for the light to go out I guess. I think its located behind the passenger side dash pad. I'll see tonight or I can just remove the bulb.

Johnif you remove the bulb that should solve the problem of the light remaining on.
