Fit of "race tracks" on Reproduction Interior Door Panels 1963-1967

Paragon's current C2 catalog points out that reproduction trim parts, or moldings on door panels (7081K and 7082K), "should be used on reproduction door panels" for a better fit. I found this to be true when putting original trim pcs. on Al K's reproduction panels. I wonder if the same comment would apply to the Corv. Am.'s reproduction door panels?

I intend to ask Paragon for specifics, but I wonder if others here might have a comment. (I did a search but probably used too many key words...)

    Thanks

    Tom,
I found that the original arm rest trim is to wide for the smaller shallower ends of the repop arm rest. Setting them deeper into the door panel covers up the "mistake". But the over all fit of repops do not come close to the original's fit with out a lot of reshaping. Worst area is adjacent to the vent windows. That is why I spent many, many hours restoring the panels on my two '67s.

Don't get me wrong, the refitting of repops can be done and I've done that too. But nothing fits and gives the overall results of originals.

      Amen to that.
