Need some help understanding where the horn wire plugs in on the steering column. I understand where it plugs in on bottom of the steering column into the main wiring harness BUT where does it connect to the horn button. The wire I have from corvette central has a bear wire on the end and I cannot find anywhere where the wire is connected or sotered inside the steering wheel. Eric

Re: C1 Horn Wire
it doesnt....
at least on early C1's - the horn is activated when the metal plate under the horn button or trim is depressed - when it is depressed it make contact with the metal trim on the upper bearing - which completes the circuit and the horn honks....1954 Corvette #3803 - Top Flight 2012, Bloomington Gold 2012,

Re: C1 Horn Wire
Make sure housing where bearing contacts it when installed still has some original paint on it or apply some "liquid 'lectric tape" for insulation or you'll have a contant ground and contant horn honking.- Top

Re: C1 Horn Wire
Eric,
To solder the wire there, there's a hole under the column to get a soldering gun in there.
