    C1 Horn Wire

Need some help understanding where the horn wire plugs in on the steering column. I understand where it plugs in on bottom of the steering column into the main wiring harness BUT where does it connect to the horn button. The wire I have from corvette central has a bear wire on the end and I cannot find anywhere where the wire is connected or sotered inside the steering wheel. Eric

    Re: C1 Horn Wire

    it doesnt....
at least on early C1's - the horn is activated when the metal plate under the horn button or trim is depressed - when it is depressed it make contact with the metal trim on the upper bearing - which completes the circuit and the horn honks....

Make sure housing where bearing contacts it when installed still has some original paint on it or apply some "liquid 'lectric tape" for insulation or you'll have a contant ground and contant horn honking.

            Eric,

To solder the wire there, there's a hole under the column to get a soldering gun in there.
