I have a '71 I'm putting back together, there must be some missing parts, I can't tell where two braces were supposed to mount to, Right side under dash, I think some knuckle head cut something off of the top of access hole for the #2 body mount bolt.

This is the Left side inside hinge pillar post.

This photo is from a 75 but it shows the upper diagonal brace and the lower brace that holds the vent diaphragm; that brace attaches to the left (front) of the opening for the body mount bolt. Hope it helps.

It's a 71 hinge pillar.

This is what I was looking for also. My fear has been realized. Can you tell me what the round hole is for? Also what the table shaped hole is for? Are they just holes or do they serve a function? Do I have to repair the post? I actually want to repair them anyway. The thought of that damage underneath the kick panel when I'm finished would bother me. Do you have a picture of what the DRIVER side post looks like?

If you are referring to the tubular, cross-dash brace seen in Eric's photo, that brace was used only on convertibles with A/C. So, if that's not what you have, then it never had the brace to begin with.

You don't have to repair the pillar post; it will be fine as-is.

The driver side looks pretty much like the passenger side.

Thank you for that. It makes me ill inside to see unnecessary damage such as what I have on both my pillar posts. I can only figure that somebody wanted greater access for an impact wrench.

It is a coupe, I'll be right back with another picture, if you got a second, I'm gonna take a picture of a brace that I have. So I think that I have every one that I need.

Then these two braces must be for the rear bumper? The one on the left has seen better days, since it was bent I thought it went under the dash, BTW, I bought the car partially disassembled, that's why the questions, Thank you for helping me with this.
