C1 windshield header removal

Can the C1 (1961) windshield top header be removed from the car without taking the windshield out of the car so it can be polished?

NO. The windshield assembly must be removed.

Mine cleaned up with a fine steel wool and chrome polish.

I did much the same as John. I used 0000 steel wool and body polish, then wax. Steve

See this thread for more info. It shows how I remove it. If it's attempted on a assembled frame, something will get damaged.
