    63 rear leaf spring

I have the original 9 leaf spring that I am ready to sand blast and paint but before I do that I was thinking how do I know if this is any good. Is there away to check it out before I install it ?

    Robert,

I would say if there is no severe pitting and no cracked/broken leafs it will be fine. I think the constant rate nine leaf spring for 63 holds up better than the later variable rate spring used from 64 on as far as spring sag.

When you install the spring use new rubber cushions on the outside.

Here are a couple of threads you might want to read.

If you need to replace the cushion retainer cups on the ends take a look at this one. Make sure you get the correct cups for '63
