59 FI Air Cleaner Assy wing nut

Lost the wing nut for my 59 FI A/C housing and can't remember the size of it. Large like on carb A/C lid or smaller ? I still have the threaded rod.

Al, Per the JRG: Mid 1958 through 1960 uses a steel wing nut with no indentations in the wing and is welded to the threaded stud creating a "wing bolt". Don H.

Thanks Joe and Donald, Mine must have been replaced thru the years as it had a wing nut on an 8" threaded rod. Joe, can you show a close-up of the weld between the nut and rod? Also, what is the length of the exposed rod below the nut? Al

Al, Last week I saw an original stud on Ebay. Pics showed the top of the stud so that you can see the correct welding procedure. John

I don't have that information. Perhaps someone else can provide it.

The stud that was for sale on e bay looked like a good original and did not sell. It was being sold by Justin Beck who is a member
