Turning engine back

I have my engine out and on a engine stand for touch up of paint.I pulled the distributor and marked rotor position,my problem is while thightening the harmonic balancer bolt,(it's 327/365),the crank turned a small amount.Can I turn the engine backwards without hurting it? Thanks
