    2004 Dimming Mirrors

My car has been covered all winter with battery disconnected. I took it out for a spin Sunday and noticed the Drivers Mirror looked odd. The top 1/2 inch was in the daylight mode with the balance of the mirror being in the dimmer mode. All the fuses are OK and the light on the automatic dimmer feature of the rearview mirror comes on when the button is depressed. The rearview mirror appears to always stay in the daylight mode. I have tried covering the sensors and have noticed no difference in either Mirror. Any ideas?

1st question manual or automatic trans? 2nd one mirror is not working and the other is half darker and half lighter in color? Did you check fuse #21 also are your backup lights working. Your mirrors get power from that fuse to operate. If it has blown your problem would likely be in the backup circuit or just a bad connection. If one mirror is half one shade and the other half is another it has internally failed. The mirror is made of 2 mirrors sandwiched together with a fluid in between and then sealed. If your shows this it has to be replaced it means air has entered and the seal is broken.

Thanks, Fuse , 21 OK, Backup Lights work, Sounds like mirror may have failed. Most likely a dealer issue.
