What is the correct finish of the fittings on both the inlet and outlet sides of the GF-90 fuel filter that is used in a 1965 L76 engine? The JG does not appear to address this question, and I haven't been able to find the answer in the Archives here. In other words, is the 90-degree fitting connecting the GF-90 filter to the rubber hose leading to the carburetor, brass or chrome? Same question on the inlet side--is the fitting connecting the chrome line from the 40083 fuel pump to the filter, chrome or brass? Many thanks in advance as usual. Mike

Re: Finish of GF-90 Filter Fittings
Michael -- my copy of the 5th ed. TIM&JG discusses this on page 103 (Mechanical -- fuel lines). Says chrome on inlet, brass on outlet.
Big pic below is of my L79, taken in April of 1968. Thumbnails below show fittings I currently have on my L76, but it's been so long since I put them on, can't recall where I got them. One on the left of the two silver GF90's is recent GM service filter. One on right was bought from a Hawaii dealer going out of business, about 1980; saved a box end flap from this one.
I realize the silver ones with no circumferential groove on hex are for earlier ('62-3 ?) model years. Both end fittings have "Weatherhead" symbols. Both of mine are chrome plated brass, but the '65 guide says the outlet should be (plain) brass, and judging by the big pic, I'd tend to agree.
