1971 dash color
I have a 1971 Vette with a black dash. I'm going to dye the vinyl black again. Should I use gloss or satin black? Thanks in advance for the advice.

Hi Phil,
I believe that people find the satin dye gives the appearance of the sheen on the original dash pads.
From what I read, in order to have excellent results, the preparation and cleaning of the vinyl surface is critical!

gloss black will blind you with sun reflection...no more than satin, IMHO.Leif

Phil,
Was the vinyl black to start with, or has it been dyed. My interior has over spray on it from the paint shop. They even tried to redye some of it, but just made a mess.
I got alcohol and wiped it down really good. It came out unbelievable. If it was already black, give it a try. Nothing to loose at this point.
Send me a PM with your e-mail and I will send you some pictures. It is still on the living room floor. Very easy to see how good it came out.
