    73 Smog + TCS solenoid

I'm in the process of installing the TCS solenoid and smogpump on a 73 L48. The assembly manual callsfor an (assy.) on the carburetors drivers side vacuum line and the smog pump butdrawing doesn't show any T fitting. Doesanyone have any pictures of a 350 automatic smog pump and solenoid vacuum linesinstallation for the carb?

    Any helpwill be greatly appreciated.

I don't have any pics, but I have assembly manuals for '72-'73 and '74. Sometimes one manual is clearer than others! The 'assembly' is just that, the complete 'system' of hoses and tee's for a particular engine/transmission. At first glance it looks like vacuum hose comes off carb, 'tee's to carbon canister cap, then 'tees' again with one hose going to TCS solenoid, and another hose going to signal port on A.I.R pumps diverter valve.Doc Rebuild (luv him or hate him) has TCS hose set ups for each year/engine/transmission combo, pretty reasonably priced. I'm happy with the one I picked up for my '73 454. I'd be happy to look at my other assembly manuals if you'd like though!

I appreciatethe help Rich as I'm trying to put this back together for judging and want to make sure its correct. I assume your saying the left carb port (driver side) is the tee between the can and the TCS? Or is it the right carb port? In the assy manual I'm looking at its displaying the vac hose goes from the Smog to the drivers sideport on the carb. Unfortunately, the picture in the assy manual is so bad it looks like one of my grandkids drew it with a submarine.

I hope you and your family had a great Easter Holiday,

Ralph Spears sent me two photos of his one-owner 1973, but for some reason I can't post them from work. I'll try from home late tonight.

I am 99 and 44/100% sure these are from Ralph's one-owner 1973, but I could be wrong. Here they are thanks to Ralph:

Gees, if I would have know Stretch kept the coffee pot on I would have stopped more often. It has been a couple of years since I stopped by. Joe are you there every day?
