    1958 thermostats housing bolts and.....

    1958 230 hp We're both bolts painted Orange ?
    Was the carburator spring bracket that attached to the thermostat bolts get installed after the engine received paint?

    Yes, both bolts are painted orange Spring is green for 230 HP

      Do you know if the accelerator spring bracket had over spray?
      Go figure, I just bought a spring and its black.

        The original springs for the early C1s were black. The green springs were correct for C2 cars, but were the service replacement springs for the C1s. I have confirmed this by examining Bow Tie cars. None of them had a green spring. The 58-60 Judging Guide is inaccurate on this subject.

          Accelerator spring bracket is carbon steel, not stainless, and it was on the engine when the engine was painted; it is fully painted.
