I'm restoring a '61........ June 24th build 315hp FI. It's boxes of parts included this high RL tachometer.

I tested the tach and it works fine. It reads 2X cable speed when I run it with a known reference. On the back of the case is stamped 1549082-W, and inside a "9082", which is the correct tach for this application. It has a Yellow band from 1000 to 4000. Dark Green 4000 to 6300, Orange 6300 to 6500, Red 6500 to 7000.
I do not see reference to this color band version in the JG, nor in Noland's book. The '61/'62 JG only shows Pale Green 1000 to 4000.
So I search here, and other places, no reference to the changes to the faces within the 1961 builds. According to a vendor this is what I find.
1960L to 1961E - 1000 to 4000 is Pale Green
D-595.JPG
1961L to 1962 - 1000 to 4000 is Yellow
D-597.JPG
Is there a more official reference available? When is Early, and when is Late?
Thanks,
Rich
