I agree!
Didn't know him personally, but knew several people who made runs for him. Have never heard a bad comment about him. One of my best friends operates a convenience store at the location of his old store on NC 42 east of Clayton. Ever in that direction stop in and get 1 of the best hotdogs you ever put in your mouth.

Was through there yesterday Al, wish I had known 'bout the dog. Then again some of the best pork BBQ in the country is in that area

Hey Craig and other NC members, this may be coming to your county sooner than you think AND it will come as a new source of revenue to replace federal or state money that is no longer given freely to the counties. PAUL, you hit the nail on the head about the county being invaded by Wake County. Just hope it does not migrate further east. Dick, Percy still has a legacy across NC even many years after his passing. BUT, another name immediately came to my mind, that of a banker with a first name of Frank. Paul, are Dick and me close to who you had in mind? OK Dick, was what was made in your part of the state as good as "Mr." Percy's

Yes Al, I was talking about Frank. A pretty nice guy, but I can't say the same for Percy's nephew. He once chased me off some property on the Chowan River with a shotgun. The property wasn't even his!
