I bought a set of heater hoses with the molded ends for my '72 BB w/ a/c. Do the molded ends go on the engine or the heater core? My old hoses are not molded so I have no reference. Also, in an effort to combat cabin heat I installed a heater control valve, which shouldn't be there on a '72. It seems to help a little. With the heater and a/c boxes re-sealed does it really make much of a difference? Just wondering if I should bother cutting the new hoses. Thanks!

Re: Heater hoses
For what it's worth, the prior owner put a heater shut-off valve in the hose to the heater core. I removed it when I refreshed the HVAC and vacuum systems, and have found that having working vacuum components and no core leaks works a lot better than the valve!- Top

Re: Heater hoses
Thanks, I've been leaning toward leaving the valve out since I'm putting new hoses in anyway.I've been looking at the hoses, the one from the manifold to the heater core in particular. The set I bought from paragon is described like this,"Heater hose kit, non-ribbed style, w/ A/C, molded ends. Includes 2000 5/8" w/GM stamped in white and 2001 3/4". Years: 1968 - 1982". Since they are pretty generic and don't specifically state that they will fit A/C cars with a big block, I was wondering if they are long enough with a big block since they are routed over the top of the compressor. Any help would be great before I start. thanks!!- Top
