    MP3 CD - 2009 Corvette

I am having trouble converting music to a MP3 format. Does anyone know what steps I need to take to convert the files to the MP3 format that will be received and playable in my car?

The file that I have converted indicates it is in a MP3 format, but will not play. Shows invalid disc loaded. However, the disc will play via my desktop.

GM has some file formats that affect mp3 disks/SD cards. I usually make folders for each album or artist that has 18 or less songs on it. The disk has to be finalized also. Also, so brands of disks work better than others. Go to corvettforum.com, in the C6 section of

GM's -- MP3-CD file format for the 2009 Corvette is really different. They use a "mode 1" format and in general all the contemporary file conversion software use a "Mode 2/XA" I got this from a GM Chevrolet/Corvette dealer's service manager. He also gave me a GM notice for the 2009 Corvette with Navigation Radios that basically says the same thing.

I am going to keep looking, but it maybe slim picking.

Odd. They certainly must have changed something; I've had no trouble with my 06's nav/cd/mp3 player. I'll have to ask my friend with a '12 and see what his experience has been.

Here is the GM notice I got from the Service manager. Hopefully a copy will be attached.
