    63 Attaching Rocker Panels

I'm at the point to mount the rocker panels. Is there a special trick or tool to hook them on the brackets mounted on the car, I have a hard time hooking them on?

Rob, I think the repro brackets if that is what you have will give you a tough time, I had the original brackets on my 63 and had no problems, I have a friend with the repro brackets on his 63 and has a issue hanging them on.If this is the case for you.I beleive he backed out the screws a turn so he could hang them on.

A washer between the bracket and the body will help. A relatively thick one.

My brackets are originals, should I put a washer between the bracket and the body at each screw?

          Rob,

Yes, spacing the brackets at each screw will help but sometimes will not be enough. The later NOS rockers from GM were not exactly easy as the upper edge was turned a little tight. Also make sure the upper corners are not going to scrape the paint when you are installing them. Sometimes the corners need a little t*******.
Installing rockers on any C-2 can ruin your day.
