What was the time frame that the 454 carb was changed from 7040205 to 7040505. Was the 7040505 a Cal. emissions only or was it on all later 454'S. There is no explanation in the JM.

The GM #7040205 was the non-California, 1970 big block carburetor for standard transmission applications. GM #7040505 was the California, 1970 big block carburetor for standard transmission applications.
