    68 pulley decode

    Members,
I'm in the final part number search on my 327 L-79 engine. Every part on this engine has correct part number and date code, with the exception of the pulleys. Can someone tell me the part number for the crankshaft pulley, waterpump pulley, smog pump pulley and the alternator pulley on a 327 L-79 HT engine code ( no air, power steering or power brakes). I only see the Alternator pulley part number in the TIM/JG. I do plan on having my car Judged this year at our Judging Meet. Then I will get Ready for the Large Meets. Thanks in Advance. Jeff

Thanks Joe, Looks like i have to find the 3883235 and the 3917234 pulleys. Ebay and Swap Meets should do it. The paint code for these pulleys i assume is Satin Black.

I believe that most, if not all, of the originals of these pulleys were finished in black phosphate. Later SERVICE were semi-gloss black, though.

For your application the correct pulleys are shown on UPC C60, sheet C1 and UPC N40, sheet A6 of the AIM. Basically, the with C-60 pulley configuration was the same for 300 HP as for L-79.

There was an early configuration, though, which differed from that described on the above referenced sheets. However, I do not know just when that ended. I think it was quite early in the model year.
