Breakerless SE - LL = American Autowire?

I think about ordering the breakerless SE module. I thought Lectric Limited is the vendor but now I've seen Summit also offers a breakerless SE module stating American Autowire as vendor. Is it the identical one? Summit is more convenient for me to order from Germany.

    Oliver,

Have had a Petronix system http://www.pertronix.com/ in my 1964 for 20 years with no problems.

Breakerless SE is manufactured by http://www.breakerless.com/ I don't know of anyone who has used this system.

I have used the breakerless SE on my 67 and it's very nice. The best thing is that it uses the factory single wire and factory coil and ballast resistor. It's like driving with new points all the time, you will like it. Call Summit and ask them your question, if you don't like the response order from LL or M&H where it's made.

I've used it on my '66 for many many years and it works great. No modifications so if it would fail, just drop in the points and condenser you saved and move on. Give Summit a call.....

On a '62 340 or 360 hp instructions require you remove one of the wires inside the dual point distributor before installing the single wire breakerless trigger. Has anyone done this? Guess if you do, can't return to original setup if you ever wanted to go back to dual points as original??

            Bill:

Put a small piece of heat shrink over the second wire terminal and (very small) tie-wrap to hold it in a safe out-of-the-way position.

              Larry,
What do I tie-wrap it to?
              Thanks

Tie-wrap it back to itself (loop) or to the incoming wire lead inside the distributor (from the coil). The main thing is that the unused end terminal connection is insulated with heat shrink insulation (or something similar) and is securely out of the way of everything else. You do not want this wire terminal to "ground out" inside the distributor case.
