    NCM Insurance

Just got my bill for 2014.

The same coverage as 2013. The premium jumped 19%. Time to look at Grundy!

They have to pay for the sinkhole repair.

No change in my Hagerty premiums except for me wanting to increase the covered value on 1 car.

For me, Hagerty has been going down in price each of the past two years without any changes in the coverage.
The light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off.

        Re: NCM Insurance

In the grand scope of things, we all own high dollar cars. NCM is not an insurance company. You can purchase insurance through Adam Boca who represents American Modern and all of their subsidiaries. Here in Texas it is Consumers County Mutual. Most of these companies stand on their own merits. Lots of claims overall equals premium increases. Lower claim activity equals decreasing premiums. Tornadoes, floods, fires, vandalism, thefts, liability lawsuits (frivolous or not), injuries, service, etc. all add up at the end of the day. Auto repairs have never gone down in my 65 years. Food goes up, gasoline goes up, everything goes up. It's called inflation. To me, the lowest premium equals--you get what you pay for. Highest premiums equals--companies going out of business because nobody will buy from them. If we can afford the premium for an "agreed value" policy and are getting great service when we need it, we should be satisfied. Otherwise we can take a step back and ride a Corvette Schwinn bicycle or walk. Then we don't need insurance at all. Sorry, I just had to vent.

John, venting is fine, no problem.

To me it doesn't matter if it's insurance or a can of corn, what matters is what is the cost driver that would increase the price of anything by 20 percent. If I told my customers their new computer servers were now 20 percent more for no added value I would be walked to the door and pushed outside.

            Harry,

I'd venture to say, I'd bet you'll still come out on top with NCM vs. Grundys premiums........I recently made the switch the other way and my premiums dropped considerably!

Give Hagerty a call, no increases this year or last year.

Hagerty as always been "FAIR" for my needs, looking at my bill as I post no increase in 3 years! I have 4 of my more important cars with them, plus I have the peace of mind I can feel good about! Try them out.

I have been with JC Taylor Antique Auto Insurance for 20+ years. They are family owned and based in Upper Darby, PA. Premiums only seem to increase when I add a car or change an agreed value (which has been a while) for both. Check them out at www.jctaylor.com or see their add in The Driveline.

Hagerty here and my premium has always remained the same. NCM is no insurance company! They are just getting a cut from an insurance company like they pay an agent!

If you told anyone who pays for health insurance that their premium went up 10-20% per year you'd just be another insurance agent, because that's what happens. As a result many of the products and services we pay for increase as well.
                          I know, that's really a different topic.

I called them Friday, we have the infamous computer error. No idea why the price went up. They are repricing the policy. We'll see!
