Hi,I have one of the 1994 Corvette Copper cars and need to perform some very minor fiberglass repair and front bumper repair.Does anyone know what the original primer color might have been used during the factory paint process?Thanks in advance for any replies.--Doug

I can't answer your question on primer color but not to spilt hairs but there is no fibberglass in a 94. It's all SMC. Also would like to see pictures. Love that color. Only ever saw 3 of them in person. Very stunning But good luck color matching

It will definitely be an SMC repair. Color match will be a challenge, but there's a shop near me that specializes in Ferrari paint and body that swear they can color-match anything with their computer-based system.

Remains to be seen if that's true or not - but I'm not too worried, as one day I'll probably do a repaint. For now, I'm just trying to get the car presentable for the 2014 NCM Caravan.

I removed my original soft top glass window and had Al Knoch heat-seam it into a brand new White Vinyl top. The other Copper convts. I've seen in pictures all have the tan top to go with the Copper, but the White top really makes the whole car "pop".

Would be interested in knowing if there's anyone out there with a White top on their Copper Convt.

SMC, and all of the other variations, is fiberglass, just a different resin material.

These cars have a dark gray, black-ish primer. I dont think there was any consideration of exterior color when primed.

Doug, I have a Copper '94 with a white top and gray leather int. Have you every talked to Jerry Hilbert? He has a lot of info on Copper cars. Queen City chapter member, I think.Dave
