c1 Heater and Heater Hoses Connection

Does anyone know which way the heater hoses connect to the core. There are two one is connected to the water pump and the other to the manifold. Which once connects to the bases of the heater core and which one connects to the upper section of the heater core.

    Thanks,

    Eric

Eric, you should purchase an AIM from NCRS store, shows all routings etc. for your car.

Yes Eric you need a AIM it'll show you all kinds of neat stuff about your car.

Until then, here's a copy of the AIM page showing the routing and the core hoses. You may want to use modern worm clamps on the copper elbow instead of Corbin clamps, for safety. I use a little gasket cement on those hoses inside too.

Be very careful Eric, that "love" for it will soon turn into an addiction! The good news is as with any addiction you will meet lots of people with the same problem. LOL

Then there are those of us with 53-55 and no AIM to refer to. In my case I've figured it doesn't matter which way the water passes through the heater core. Seems to me it should work both ways. But since one connection to the core is higher than the other and one hose coming off the engine is higher than the other logic says to route the hoses and connect them so they don't cross. That rule of thumb may or may not work on all C1s.
