See my post above, and go ahead and Google 225/70-15.

The only speed rated tires above the S or T rating were "off" brands like Westlake, Federal, Runway, Maxxis, etc. See here:

I'm not sure if having the H speed rating, for example, implies that they are good tires no matter what name is on them, or if having an off brand name suggests that they probably aren't worth much.
In addition, most are listed as being SUV tires, whatever that means.
Despite Duke's recommendations over the years I think that any tires other than an S or T rating are going to be hit or miss.

      Mike,
Take a look at the tires on my car next time you are in the shop. They are 225's. I am also looking at new red lines from Diamond Back and I think I am going with the 215's The 225's look a little big to me.

i have 225 radials on one of the 1969 cars, and I agree they look a little more muscular than F70-15s would. That is why was all set to order 215s from Diamondback, until the salesman scared me off.

I put white stripe 215s on my '71 and I like them. Got them from Diamondback. Randy C.

I use 245/60 redlines from diamondback on my 69. Hard to break them loose with a 3.08 rear, and they do have an agressive look, but I have a set of 45 year old goodyear redlines for judging.

There is a set of high speed 225/65WR15 Pirelli P4000 Blackwall Radial Tires on Ebay right now. I have same tires on my 71 LT-1 (M20 and 3.70) and there is one thing about them and that is they are EXCELLENT. The 225/65 have 2% less circumference compare to the 225/70 and to my references and use this is within the acceptable. This tire was original delivered on some Jaguar models and are now out of production. They was made in UK, the 215/70WR15 Pirelli P4000, also out of production, was made in Romania. Now and then a set been in storage for some years coming up for sale. They are date coded, week and year. Eks. 4409 means week 44 year 2009.

I understand that Diamond Back also has H-rated 225/70R-15 redlines.

What brand of tire do they use?

I know the diamondback 245s are BF goodrich Radial TA. I am not sure about the smaller sizes, but I would assume they are the same.

The diamondback people were very friendly. I wonder if you could call them and send them the tire of your choice and have them redline them.

The diamondbacks would be my top choice as there is no writing at all on the redline side. They are smooth, unlike some of the other companies who leave the writing.

Re: Date code batching for Holleys

BFG Radial TAs are not H speed rated, so if Diamondback found a source of H rated tires that they are comfortable using I would like to know what brand that is.

Re: Date code batching for Holleys

From what I could gather by perusing the Diamondback catalog, their Diamondback HR-15 225/70R15 tires are sourced from Maxxis. The price is $234.00 each.
