Re: What would be the vintage of these?
Mike I can see the use for almost all of the kit, but the wax must be for making use of your time, while waiting for someone to stop by to help you. Of course this is before cell phones. And No I don't know how old they are. Older than me.Dave

Re: What would be the vintage of these?
Mike, I agree with Ara. Local Chevy/GM dealer had one of these in the small display case at the parts counter in the '65-'66 time frame. I bought a set of mats and fire extinguisher from the dealership and passed on this kit. Mats and extinguisher are still in the car.Steve

Ara,
Are you suggesting you may not have properly mounted yours?P3252609 (2).jpgP3252602 (4).jpg

Re: What would be the vintage of these?
Does anyone have one of the small, about 5-5" tall, tire repair canisters with a piece of tire/tube rubber repair and adhesive? I have not seen one in years. They looked like the ones available through Mobil stations but with GM labeling. They were available in blue and white and in the mid to late 60's, possibly 70's. Steve- Top

Re: What would be the vintage of these?
Mike------
The highway emergency kit was discontinued without supercession in October, 1969. Given the style of the packaging and the part numbers of the components of the kit, I would say it first became available about early 1967.
I can't see the full part number of the wax. What are the last 3 digits? In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Hello Mike;
Still have this same "Highway Emergency Kit" , somehow missing the fuses, I bought for my Father in, I think, 1967 for Christmas. It still has the GMPP pull computer punch tag in the box. No date on the tag. It even has the adhesive pull strips on the box bottom designed to secure it to the storage compartment floor
Our Mother gave it to me when our Father passed a few years later.
I have displayed it with my 1967s during NCRS judging.
Don't know if that answers your question.
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance

Re: What would be the vintage of these?
I used and discarded too many GM parts and accessories over the years. Steve
