How do you clean up outside of alternator?

I had the SB in my 66 rebuilt and repainted. I also had all the chrome and SS parts redone/buffed out. While the engine was out I had the engine compartment cleaned up and refreshed. When I got the car back I realized that nothing was done to the alternator which now sticks out like a soar thumb. So what can be done to the outside of the alternator to make it look as clean and sharp as the rest of the engine compartment. Thanks in advance for any suggestions and or advise. Ron

I would send it to John Pirkle. He has done a few of my alternators over the years and when they come back, they look like new.
