Does Anyone recognize these wheels and tires probably from the late sixties? Approximately when were they manufactured and by whom? Center cap logo may have letters A and P with a checkered band diagonally between in gold on a black background. Possibly the P is an R. The logos are in poor condition. Tires have a small BF Goodrich logo on Blackwall side, 7.75-15, D1285-T205 (over-embossed with SECOND) with very small lettering PRPX 360 5358 A-1 E16685 MADE IN U.S.A. Some of the wheel weights have BF Goodrich in raised lettering. No markings on the white-wall side. No apparent DOT stamps. Does anyone know the approximate date of manufacture of the tires from these codes?I looked briefly for Appliance Plating and American Racing trademarks at the USPTO without a match. Any leads? Thanks, Joe.

It's not a '63 according to the rocker panel trims, but they don't look like '64's either, are they 65's?- Top

Re: Anyone recognize these wheels and tires?
Don, the frame on this vehicle actually looks pretty solid. Some scaly rust but no perforations, and solid near the kick-ups. I need to take the body off and stabilize the frame for the next fifty years though. The car apparently sat in closed storage over concrete for a few decades (since 1972). I'm thinking these steel wheels were inexpensive aftermarket, and I'm interested in the vintage tires too. I have some vintage turbine-style Western Wheels that I think might look good on this Corvette - closer to style of factory knock-offs. It will be a long time before this vette is roadworthy. I will try to track down the Ansen Products logos. Thanks, Joe- Top

Joe
glad to hear the frame is solid.
Is it a 63 or 4? the rocker mouldings most closely resemble 65.
I think those wheels are J.C. Whitney specials, and probably worth next to nothing, even if in pristine shape.
I think anything else would be an improvement.
good luck

Re: Anyone recognize these wheels and tires?
Don, it is a 64 but you are correct about the rocker panel moldings being 65 apparently. The front grill is also later than the 64 setup that originally came on this car, and a bit of a kluge installation. Joe- Top
