What is the correct length on the pins or rods that go from the piston inside the wheel cylinder to the brake shoes/ I've got new ones from 2 different sources that are 3 different lengths, and the old ones are nowhere to be found. That's what happens when cars stay in boxes for 30 years.

Norris------
GM #509233. According to GM these are 2-1/16" overall length.
By the way, this is another ancient part number. It was discontinued in the last several years but, before then, it was around since the 40's, maybe even earlier. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Norris -- I took apart a Jan '64 rear drum assy, and pulled one of the LINK / Rod, Wheel Cyl. to Brake Shoe Thrust, Gr 4.675; P&A catalogs say same for front & rear, 2_1/16" O.L. (2.063"). The one I measured was 2.025.
Used on just about everything Chevy. part # 509233, '53 thru '65.- Top
