1967 SB--Markings on block underneath orange paint

Attached picture shows underside of block on a mid-May 67 base motor with K19 (AIR). I know the grease pencil was marked when the block was inverted (so it's upside down, but who can tell that with a "HH" code?). Can anyone tell me what the blue paint indicates? Some kind of inspection mark at some point, I assume! Also attached is a pic of the timing chain cover when the water pump was removed. (Cover has a 4-67 date stamped on it)
Car had 57k on the odometer (broken?), but with standard bore, no ridge. Not driven since 79 or 80.
    Any insight would be appreciated!051.jpg060.jpg

HH in 1967 would equate to a 327/300 hp with manual transmission and air injection according to the Corvette Black. Suffix on pad should be a HH.

      Mike,
that was a given. I was asking about the blue paint. Sorry I wasn't clear about that.

Mike, here's a thread on my 67-300 (HE). The blue on mine was only on the rear of the block. But, no good answer on the blue mark.

My timing cover also has the date code.

OK, I'm having trouble posting the link, when I hit reply it changes the link (and I can't use the paste feature either).

Mike if you want to view he post, do an advanced search using Bill Hetzel, "threads started by", and "Block Marks"

I have to get this fixed, I couldn't even delete the post above.

Could it be a spray mark indicating proper torque was reached on a fastener ? I remember back in the day the multiple lug nut runner tool would give a spritz like that on the tire when the proper torque was reached.

Fixed my problem with the link, thanks Gary.

First post shows the blue on the rear of the block and no blue under the "HE"

My 65 has the same blue marking over the "HF" on the sides of the engine. It also has the original markings on the back of both heads. What the blue marks mean, I don't know, but they seem to be common on original engines.
