1962 HP pressure & clutch plates

Can someone confirm the diameter of pressure and clutch plates for 1962 340 hp and 360 hp engines. For years, I have believed that the diameters were 10.5" as opposed to the standard 10".

My February 1971 Corvette Parts catalog which was used at the Chevy parts counter shows 55-62 pressure plate to be 10 1/16" and the 57-62 clutch plate to be 10". Nothing is shown for the HP engines.

    Thanks for your help.

The ZF replacement is listed as 10 3/8 inches for the HP app.

      Ken,

I Googled ZF clutches and got numerous websites but on Sachs, I could not come up with anything for Corvettes. Webpage showed only diapfram type clutches. I may try to use the original replacement type - Borg & Beck. Googled B&B but couldn't seem to find anything there. Maybe not enough patience or website savy.

        Part # is K1874-02. It is a diaphragm style. You don't want a B&B.

I don't think that any of the major OEM suppliers of clutches (like Sachs, LUK, etc.) manufacture any of the old Borg & Beck style, " 3 finger" clutches. However, if you wish to use a "3 finger" type clutch, you can get them from sources like Paragon or Corvette Central. All original C1 clutches were "3 finger"; NO C2 or later used a "3 finger", though.

            Larry -

There are only two 1956-1981 Corvette clutch sizes; 10.4" (which includes 10-3/8", 10.5", 10-1/2" and 10"), and 11".

The 67-69 L88 & ZL1 used a 10.5" diaphram clutch. No need for a 3 fingered clutch. Your leg and linkage will that you.
