    Rocker screw repair?

Has anyone successfully used Rivet nuts (Also called Rivnuts) to repair the screw holes for the rockers?

Also, does anyone know what the screw length and thread size is?? Thanks!

They are a 10 x 24 machine screw I do not remember the length but would say no more then a 1 1/2" long. I have used rivnut with success.

      Hi Tom,
A year or so ago I re-plated a set of original? rocker screws from a 71 for a fellow member.
It looks like the machine screws are about 3/4" long.
      Regards,
      Alan

I can't explain the odd head on one of the self tapping screws (of the 2 that will be seen).

The "odd" head you refer to goes near the front on the bottom of original rockers. I know at least one end uses a sheet metal screw with the speed nut, I am thinking the front?

          Hi Dick,
No, the 'tab' screw is shorter and is off to the left side by itself.
I'm referring to one of the 6 that that enter the trim piece from the side. In the pictures its the one to the left, in the bottom row.
It appears to be a pan head.
          Regards,

I would not expect to see that type of screw there it should be similar as the one on the far right. It may have been replaced at some previous time due to the loss of the original.

Thanks for all the replies.Glad the rivet nuts seems to work. I may have more alignment questions but I have not had the time to go out and look. Work has a terrible influence on the time I spend with the car. Darn-it!!!
