    Re: Performance Verification

Mike,I have been through four PV's in my two C4's, a 93 ZR-1 and a 90 L-98, I will trailer my 90 to Loveland for attempt # 3 in the 90. The 93 PV was in Colorado and my rear hatch did not go all the way to the top w/o using a hand for assistance. I think it was due to very cold weather at over 5,000 feet. I replaced the rear hatch tubes with GM replacements (wrong part number) and passed that part in Lake Tahoe a few months later, the hatch has to go all the way to the top and no assistance. For Flt judging I replaced them with the originals. On both cars I had to have the C/D's rebuilt. Now we get to the meat of things. Take your PV judging manual and a set of PV judging sheets, secure the services of an NCRS judge who can perform a mock PV, including the ten mile test. Pre-check everything in the driver and passenger area for proper operation. My big failures in the 90 was electric door lock and passenger key lock operation, this will include your security locking. Check every locking unit inside and outside the car, they should open, close and lock/unlock with ease Replace any bulbs that are not working. I will be taking spare bulbs, including headlight bulb (one) and every fuse that might be needed. The center console should open, close, lock, and the light should come on when opened. The last small detail is the static reading on your oil pressure analog gauge. After running your engine up to normal temp, turn off the engine, then turn on the ignition w/o starting up and the gauge should read approximately 5% of the total oil pressure indicated on the gauge, or about 4-5 pounds or it may read zero. That is all I can think of, good luck and I will see you in Colorado. If we both pass I will buy the first adult beverage.
