Noise Capacitor - On Back of Center Gauge Cluster (1969)

Do anyone have a picture or can clearly describe, what terminal end the wire from the noise capacitor attaches to?

The wire is only so long, so I can kind of make an educated guess where it goes, but want to be 100% sure

    Thanks in advance.

I'd suggest looking at your AIM under "radio" for that information

Bill, I surprised that no one has answered this surly there is someone who has had there 69 center gauge cluster out. If it was a 70-72 you would of had 20 answers by now. It seems there are a few less TDB users for 68/69. See you should not have gotten rid of your 72 BB That car was way to nice.

Bill I have a 1968 and recently removed the clock for cleaning. What does your noise capacitor look like? I do not have a AIM.

i am pretty sure it is attached to the clock...
but wanted to be sure ...

Bill:I had the same question at one time.I'm going from memory, as I can't find my notes, but I recall this being discussed in detail on this board before. On my 68, the capacitor is held in place by one of the screws holding the clock and the spade on the lead from the capacitor tucks into the battery gauge connector at the black wire end.

thanks for the picture - the capacitor on my cluster is mounted the same configuration.

but based solely on the wire length and hardened twist/turn it could only go to the clock.
It will not point anywhere close to the battery/volt gauge connectors...

Henry I agree with you. Using the picture above of Paul's gauge panel above refreshed my memory of the gauge panel of my 68. I just looked at the back of my 68's gauge panel. I remembered that my 68's capacitor was held in place by a screw which retains the top of the 68's clock in the gauge panel. The wire from the capacitor is still connected to the battery gauge on my 68. With the black plastic two hole connector installed on the battery gauge's two spade terminals, the capacitor wire connector is inserted into "top" connection point of the black plastic connector as installed on the battery gauge's two separated spade type connectors/terminals.

                    hey ..

sounds like the battery connector is correct...

the wire from the capacitor - does it slide in the solid black wire or black/white stripe wire?

                    Thanks in advance.

Bill I did not note what color of wire, only remembered to post that the resistor wire went to the top spade connection of the battery gauge into the black plastic connector. Will take a look at the color of wires tonight for you.

Bill just looked at my 68's wire that is in the black plastic connector to the two blade terminals on the battery gauge. The wire is black and does have a stripe. The stripe could be white. I was using a mirror and flashlight to view it.
