1959 carburetor issues
I have a 1959 with a 327 engine. I rebuilt the carburetor due to problems with cold starts. The car starts well after sitting for a week or so. The new issue is that after I drive it for a while (25-30 mins) run into the store and then try to restart the car it doesn't turn over right away. I have to try to turn it over 4-5x then it sputters then stalls, then eventually starts....is it still the carburetor?

Do you mean that when you turn the key the engine will not turn over, meaning it won't crank like when the battery is weak?
If it cranks, but does not fire, then catches and sputters like you describe, I might take a look at the float level being too high. Possibly causing a flooding condition after shut down which would lead to a hard start.

I recently had a somewhat similar problem with my 1957. It would start when cold but not after it warmed up. After much consternation and trying different things, the problem was solved with a new ignition coil.
