    Uniroyal Tiger Paws

I just purchased five (New) F70-15 wsw Uniroyal Tiger Paws, stickers still on thead. I have been searching the archives and have found that in the past there was no way to read the old codes. Has there been any new information on the old six digit codes? These tires are dated JS150V, HO835V, HO835V, HO703V and JU153V. They are all DOT. Could "V" be the year?

I certainly don't know everything. Others may know more, so don't give up so soon.

          Re: Uniroyal Tiger Paws

Uniroyal Tiger Paws are a poor quality tire, at least in that 68/69 timeframe. I'm down to 7 of them (white stripe F70X15) but, it looks like another sidewall is about to blow.

Do yours say Load Range B on the side?

I was helping a friend catalog his tires. I also came across a group of uniroyal tiger paws. Havent had any luck with dates as they dont match others.

Then they are, most likely, model year 69 or newer.

My 1968 with it's original spare has one of the exact date codes as one of Mike's tires (JS150V) and is load range B. Car was assembled in April 1968.

                    John,

That's great to know...thanks! I wish I could break the code on those Tiger Paws.

Does the load range B embossment have anything to do with the DOT embossment that was mandated on January 1, 1968. ???

I'm guess it does but, I was under the impression that didn'tstart until summer of 1968.

I was always under the impression it was 1/1/68. I know the member that can straighten it out. Hopefully he will teach us and after he does it is up to us to remember.

Mark, The reason your Tiger paw are poor quality is because those are TARS made in the South, here in the north we make Tiger paw TIRES. Sorry just had to.

'Had a friend in college who had a Goat and continually bought Tiger Paws as replacements when his were bald. He said he liked them because he could really smoke them and break them loose.
