    c1 bonding adhesive

What bonding adhesive should I use? Looking at Axson APF-7 that Sermersheims's sells but it is black. I think the adhesive on C1 is suppose to be gray.

ALot of guys use Vette Bond - personally I think it set up too fast (I am slow)
I use Glasin for bonding and repairs
The original bonding material on the early C1's is brown - brownish in color.

Now try and find Lord Fusor. I have a can of 320 and looking for the hardener 322 but it is near impossible to find, except ecklers where you have to buy both 320 and 322.

I have used Fusor products, never again! Being a quality product, but it expands in the sunlight much different than the old fiberglass does, seams/repairs show up more so than old bonding adhesive does.Best to use a product similar to what was used back in the day.

Agree, Fusor is an epoxy product. It is fine for bonding, but not good for surface. Always finish the seams and surface with polyester materials.

William, So what product(s) would you suggest that would be similar to what was used back in the day?

                  Thx, Larry

Axson #7 Black with a little 1/16 chopped glass, a spot of brown coloring, and red hardner.

What is the chopped glass for? Is that for filling in the seam at the same time that the bonding is being done? What do you use for the brown coloring?

The choped glass gives it some texture like the original. You can get inert coloring lots of places, but a little paint will work.
