63: Trick to insert clip on master cilinder

Any trick to insert he clip (2nd from the left) into the master cylinder? It tried several times but it flies off all the time I try to compress it to insert...

Rob, I cut a short wooden dowl. Then I compress the spring in the MC with the dowl and a C clamp.I align one end of the clip with the slot then hold in plece as best I can with a finger and work the other end in with a short needle nose plyers till it sets in place.

Or just clamp Master Cyl. in vice and used a Phillips screwdriver, the clip can be installed with your fingers once the piston is pushed in slightly.
