1954 gas cap
Is it a must to have a vented gas cap or are the common reproductions acceptible? Small detail I know. Thanks again folks! Guy. Im showing up at the convention and looking forward to seeing all the cars!

Guy - are you having the car judged ?
If no pick up an aftermarket vented cap...

If the judged event is indoors they seal the cap with tape and check to see if you have less than a 1/8 of tank of fuel. You may not even be judged for the gas cap. If held outdoors it may be a different story.Comment

Guy, as a 53-55 judge I can tell you we do judge the gas cap, pages, 78 & 79 in the "NEW" 6th edition JRM Jan 2014. Excellent photos of area your asking about.Comment

Thanks Chris, at this time I dont think Ill have it judged, no point without the original engine. The cap I have isnt vented. I saw some older eaton reproductions that are vented on e-bay for about $75 so I guess Ill have to go that route. Thanks for the advice. GuyComment
