About two years after you took him on a ride, I took him a ride in my L/88. He wanted me to go fast, I nailed it in first gear, ran it up to somewhere past 6,000 rpm's, went to shift gears and the throttle hung wide open. Don't know at what rpm the valves floated, but it was real quick, Cut the switch, looke at Zora, grinning from ear to ear like a Cheshire Cat.

Hi,
I think Zora still liked to drive them too.
GS 001 was on display at Corvettes at Carlisle in 1993.
Zora drove it from the tent in which it was displayed around the short piece of the Fairground track that was still there then with one foot on the throttle and one on the clutch. It was a memorable sight… and sound!!!!

He & his wife Effe stayed at the holiday Inn in Bloomington years ago close to my room & we talked corvettes for a long time. Sorry I didn't get pic but I didn't want to impose. I did have him sign my BG certificate at the tech center in Detroit at a Corvette show in the 70's. I also met Carroll Shelby & both had a passion for fast cars. I feel blessed.
