When thumbing through the book Corvette americas sports car on page 76 I came across what I believe is a black and white photo of a couple in a 61 Corvette driving up a mountain road. The car appears to be real and the rear plate reads C 1961. However the steering wheel seems to be from a 63. Just wondering if anyone who has seen this photo would know if the famed steering wheel which was on the 56 to 62 Corvette was suppose to be changed to the C2 wheel in 61.

I rather doubt it. If memory serves me isn't the 63 wheel a sort of deep dish? It's hard enough getting in a 61 without a steering wheel being 3 to 4 inches closer to the seat. Was it a wood grain wheel? Maybe it was an aftermarket piece. Why don't you post the picture so we can look at it? Terry
