C2 Carpet Question Please

I am about to get new carpet for our '66 coupe. The carpeting I have in there now was a two-part process; first installing a padding and then the carpet. I see that Knoch sells carpet with jute padding already affixed to the carpet, or just the carpet package by itself. Any recommendations out there on what your preference is and why?

If it was my car I would carefully remove the old carpet first before ordering anything and see the condition of the padding that's factory installed because it may be useable again.
