65 " Early" designation serial number range

What serial number range or date is considered "Early" with respect to the usage of the 2-hole clutch rod boot on firewall and a 327/350HP engine with a tach redline of 5500RPM? Thanks in advance

My first car; '65 VIN 04835 L79 with 32K miles, pic taken in May of 1968, has the 6000 redline start and an 80 lb oil gauge.

The 1963-1964, 1966, & 1967 NCRS TIM&JGs define "Early production" as the first 1/3 of that production year.

Re: 65 " Early" designation serial number range

The change over from the 2 hole boot to the 3 hole boot appeared to be near the 17000 VIN range. Not certain, if AOS bodies were a little behind.
I observed the following VIN's #17042 STL -2hole, #17301 STL -3hole, #17519 AOS -3hole. An area of mixed use has to be considered.
              Hope this helps.
