    64 vert fan clutch

    64 with 327. this has a schwitzer fan clutch installed is this correct for this year. thanks ed

    Yes, it was correct. Check the date on the hub to see if original to your car.

      Don't see a date code any where read some place that not all the schwitzer fan clutches were date coded.

        Ed, my understanding is that the Schwitzer fan clutches didn't start showing date codes until 65 model year. Need some more opinions/data to pin down dates better.

          Dan, right you are! Date coding didn't start appearing until '65--and it was spotty then.
          Region VII Director (serving members in Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas).

            Tony --- On the Schwitzer clutches, do they judge the lettering on the face of the thermostatic element ? "THIS SIDE UP..." (repeats).

              Wayne, yes we do as best we can while looking at it backwards and sometimes upside down through a mirror. It's very difficult to read. If we see some letters on the steel band and see either a stamped CJ or CK, then we move on. For each Schwitzer that I see, I'll see 10 Eatons.
