Sounds like the seller has some of his signals crossed.

Is there a "factory prototype" or "pilot line" or "GM executive" story attached?

There are a couple of original 4 speed cars listed with low VIN's. I wonder how they do that? 'Reminds me about 20 years ago I was looking at a '57 advertised with original 4 speed, HD suspension and big brakes, and a FI plenum with no fins on top. It was a very rare car but missing the fast steering adapter. VIN was under 1200.

I went and looked at a 57 in Ohio today that was on Ebay.
Pretty ratty car, Impala chrome on tail light lens and some other stupid stuff.
A 2 X 4 car of no interest to me.
BUT, it had a 57 FI throtle assembly (round) but no one knew that it was for FI only 57's.

bruce: i found the 57 2x4 corvette for sale on ebay in ohio. i'm surprised the seller didn't realize the throttle is configured like an original 57 vette FI throttle.of course, the "FI" throttle assembly could have been born in lubbock texas. mike

                Mike,

Ole Wild Bill's FI throttle rod is distinctly different.

                  Gary,

I have heard a number of them have passed judging.
What is the difference from the original?

                    Bruce,

Could be. Bends, ends, washers and no logo stamp are different on ole Bill's FI throttle rod.

If you have an original FI throttle rod as a model, you can fix ole Bill's to be real close, but the washers and the logo stamp.

Was the logo ever on the backside? Thought I saw one like that once. Unsure if this one was on the front or the back.

Mike, There was a vendor at this years Fla Regional, Kissimee that had what he said was a 57 "NOS" round FI throttle rod. I looked it over & felt that it was a REPRO due to the Mfr stamp that didn't look same the as many I have seen. Plus I believe that the round FI throttle rod was never sold over the Parts Counter. Wasn't the same Round FI throttle rod used on early 58 Fuelies also? Barry
